“With no object no image and no focus, what are you looking at? You are looking at you looking.” -James Turrell

It’s easy for creative goals to slip when life gets busy, so I’ve been reminding myself to just share one small thing that reflects where I am creatively right now.

Earlier this month, C&K held its annual art show — this time with a focus on instant film. Later, I spent my birthday weekend in Austin, still carrying that same theme with me. Instant film has quietly become my main medium over the past year, and it felt right to keep documenting through it.

We wandered through the Blanton Museum while waiting for James Turrell’s Skyspace, and spent a quiet moment taking in Austin by Ellsworth Kelly — a fitting name for the trip, really.

A side note: while we were in Austin, the "No Kings" protests were unfolding. It makes me wonder — where was everyone during the 2024 election?
